The movie even added a bit of lore to Vader begging to be explored: his Dracula-inspired castle on Mustafar, the lava planet where the villain was born. Vader is an absolute force of nature in his brief Rogue One appearance. The Rogue One scene where Vader impales several Rebel soldiers with his lightsaber did more than enough to distance the villain from his heavily ridiculed “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” moment in Revenge of the Sith and showed that the Dark Lord of the Sith can still be a terrifying presence on the screen so many years later.
Gareth Edwards did a fantastic job of bringing the iconic villain back to the big screen and making him scary again.
